Volunteer Opportunity! StreetWise Mobile Food Pantry!

Be a part of the helping hands to those families in need!  StreetWise Georgia & The Atlanta Community Food Bank partner every month to provide pre-registered families with over 100 lbs. of food.  Registered guests never have to get out of their vehicles. Guests drive through our parking lot, where StreetWise Ambassadors & Volunteers load their cars with boxes of food.

StreetWise Mobile Food Pantry is typically on the second Saturday of each month, and we pre-pack the food boxes on Friday, the day before.

Volunteers will arrive by 9:00 A.M. at the StreetWise facility for Friday Pack. The boxes are packed via an assembly line, and we will fill approximately 300+ boxes with produce, meat, bread, and dry goods.  We should be done by 11:30 A.M.

Saturday, StreetWise Mobile Food Pantry

Volunteers can expect to be outside during most of the event. You will help sort food, prepare food boxes, and load the food boxes into client vehicles. Also, help registered guest’s check-in, direct traffic, hand out StreetWise flyers, and so much more. We can find a place for you!

Volunteers arrive by 9:00 A.M., and we will set up for the Mobile Food Pantry, then at 9:30 A.M. begin to serve over 270+ registered families. With everyone pitching in, clean-up is a snap, and Volunteers are done by 12:30 P.M. You must have your own transportation. Volunteers under the age of 18 without transportation should not be dropped off.

This Food Pantry is an affiliate of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and is posting volunteer opportunities as part of a collaborative partnership between Hands On Atlanta and The Atlanta Community Food Bank. Through this partnership, Hands On Atlanta is providing training and support to select affiliate food pantries to increase their capacity to recruit, manage and retain volunteers, with the ultimate goal of strengthening services provided to families and individuals at risk of hunger.
