Local realty partners help make hope a reality for Gwinnett kids
Volunteers and partners make our mission possible. One group who’s been making an impact for years? Kares 4 Kids, the charity arm of Keller Williams Realty’s Pinnacle Partners. Founded in 2005 by Marci Fair, Kares 4 Kids was created to positively impact children today and strengthen our communities for tomorrow.
Leigh Saluzzi is Kares 4 Kids’ program coordinator and Pinnacle Partners’ event coordinator, and she’s passionate about empowering realty agents to use their position for good.
“Giving back is at the heart of Keller Williams’ culture,” Leigh said, “and Kares 4 Kids is a fun and easy way for our agents and staff to become more involved in and give back to the community.
Striving to support as many community kids as possible, Kares 4 Kids partners with a number of local nonprofits, including StreetWise.
“We’ve supported StreetWise in various ways for years through our events like Shopping 4 Kids, Books 4 Kids, Kards 4 Kids, and through flex funds donations,” Leigh said.
Another way Kares 4 Kids has served? Through their annual Book Bags 4 Kids event.
“[In our backpack event] we distribute supply-filled backpacks throughout schools and to organizations like Streetwise,” she said.
“By giving a backpack full of school supplies to a child, we’re helping empower them with the tools they need to focus on their education. And because we know StreetWise is committed to helping families who are struggling, we trust that our donations support programs to help children in need.”
In all her years with Kares 4 Kids, one experience stands out to Leigh, proving how important these backpack events are for struggling families with school aged kids.
“At an outdoor Kares 4 Kids Book Bag Party – where we pack the backpacks with school supplies – a woman drove up and asked what we were doing,” Leigh said.
“We let her know that the backpacks would be donated to kids who don’t have school supplies. That’s when she told us that school was about to start for her children and that she didn’t know how she was going to be able to buy supplies for them.”
“We were able to immediately give her filled backpacks for her children. She was so happy and relieved!”
