Our Community Comes Together: Recapping Our Back-to-School Event Success!

What an incredible day of community spirit and support!

On Saturday, July 26th, StreetWise Georgia hosted our successful Back to School Event, a true testament to the power of unity in action.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the tireless dedication of our volunteers, we were able to bring smiles and essential resources to hundreds of local families. 

Our event was a huge success, serving 59 families and ensuring 171 children started the new academic year with confidence. We proudly distributed 1,480 articles of clothing, providing students with outfits that fit and make them feel good. Beyond clothing, we also provided crucial hygiene essentials, sharing 61 feminine hygiene products and 65+ pairs of new underwear, giving children and teens the dignity they need to thrive. And, of course, no celebration is complete without a little fun – the kids (and adults!) enjoyed plenty of cotton candy, making the day extra sweet! 

This event highlights StreetWise Georgia’s commitment to providing comprehensive community solutions that foster student success and family stability. By equipping children with the basics they need, we reduce stress for parents and create a positive environment for learning. It’s more than just clothing; it’s about dignity, readiness, and a strong start. 

The success of our Back to School Event truly showcases the incredible support from our Gwinnett community. Every donation and every hour volunteered directly contributes to making days like these possible and to building a brighter future for our children.
