No Story the Same
In our world, it is often easy to become desensitized. If we aren’t careful, stories on the news and faces on the street blur together in a chaotic blend of busyness and noise. If there is anything that we have learned from quality time with our Clients, however, it is that no two people are alike and no two stories are the same.
Men, once successful and proud of their careers, are diagnosed with cancer or another chronic illness. Unable to support their families, they must call for help.
Grandparents in retirement and poor health lose an adult child and are left to provide for their grandchildren. Raising teenagers, toddlers and infants in their seventies, they must call for help.
Women in abusive marriages gather their children and finally flee, only to realize that they have no immediate means of sustaining themselves. Striving to start anew, but tempted to return to dangerous domestic situations, they must call for help.
People come for different reasons, but we treat them all the same – as welcome members of our StreetWise family who are worthy of love and respect. When we serve one another, we serve Jesus.
If you are interested in joining the mission to share God’s heart and improve local lives, Ambassador Training is scheduled for Sept. 7th, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., and Sept. 10th, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Email volunteer@streetwisegeorgia.org to RSVP for either day.
We are excited to see your story link arms and unfold with ours.
