SUMMARY:StreetWise Thanksgiving Gathering & Mobile Food Pantry
DESCRIPTION:StreetWise Thanksgiving Gathering & Mobile Food Pantry  Saturday\, November 18th\, 2023\nStreetWise Georgia & The Atlanta Community Food Bank partner every month to provide pre-registered families with approximately 100 lbs. of food.  Registered guests never have to get out of their vehicles. Guests drive through our parking lot where StreetWise Volunteers load their cars with boxes of food. \nVolunteers can expect to be outside during most of the event. You will help direct and check-in registered clients\, sort food\, prepare food boxes\, and load boxes into client vehicles\, and if you are called to be a Prayer Warrior\, inquire about being on the Prayer Team. Volunteers arrive by 8:45 A.M.\, and we will set up for the Mobile Food Pantry\, then at 9:30 A.M. begin to serve over 270 registered families. With everyone pitching in\, clean-up is a snap\, and Volunteers are done by 1:00 P.M. You must have your own transportation. Volunteers under the age of 18 without transportation should not be dropped off. \nPlease wear comfortable clothing\, tennis shoes preferred (no open-toed shoes)\, no earbuds or headphones for safety reasons\, and leave personal belongings in the car or at home. We serve rain or shine\, heat or cold\, and sometimes in the snow! Check the weather forecast and dress appropriately to be outside. \nCOVID-19 protocols: **Please do not come if you are sick\, or not feeling well** We are committed to keeping our facilities clean and safe for our Clients and Volunteers.  You will need to decline the volunteer invitation. \nFor your safety\, we ask Volunteers to wear a mask. Try to bring your own\, since our supply is limited and not guaranteed.  If you or your group cannot obtain personal masks\, please contact us ahead of time to accommodate those needs. Clients will not get out of their car\, and there should be no physical contact with them. \n*If you are a High School or College Student that needs volunteer hours\, we can give you documentation that you volunteered at StreetWise 501(c)(3) Nonprofit. \n \n  \n  \nThank you for Volunteering at StreetWise Georgia and being the helping hands to those in need! Our volunteers are a critical part of what we do.
