DESCRIPTION:Backpacks are coming for our StreetWise kids to get ready to head Back-To-School!   \nWow! where does the time go?  School starts for Gwinnett and surrounding counties the first week of August.  Each year\, StreetWise Georgia provides Backpacks for our clients’ kids to help alleviate some of the nervousness by providing a new backpack with the items on each student’s supply list. \nLast year we provided over 400 students with backpacks and school supplies\, and this year we are aiming for 600 students to receive a backpack.   We will begin to collect backpack and school supply donations on June 1\, 2022\, to have our Back To School Celebration on July 18th & 19th\, 2022.\nWould you like to help? Contact us at volunteer@streetwisegeorgia.org to get on our collection calendar! \nIf you can’t have a backpack drive but would still like to be a part of the event\, you can help a child get ready for school by donating the cost of a filled Backpack.  It is easy!  The price of a new backpack filled with the necessary supplies to help a Pre-K/Kindergarten child is as little as $40.00\, an Elementary School child $50.00\, and for a High School student $60.00. \nJust click on the Donate Today! SUMMARY:StreetWise Easter Celebration & Mobile Food Pantry!
DESCRIPTION:StreetWise Easter Celebration Is Hopping Soon!\nVolunteer Opportunity! Our Easter Celebration & Mobile Food Pantry will be Saturday\, April 16th.   \nOur Easter Celebration is one of our biggest events of the year! We will serve 300 registered families with a Take Home To Cook Easter Meal with all the fixings. And every child attending this special event receives an Easter Basket filled with goodies and surprises. Families will also enjoy hearing about the true meaning of Easter. \nVolunteers can expect to be outside during most of the event. You will help sort food\, prepare food boxes\, and load the food boxes into client vehicles. Also\, help registered guests check-in\, direct traffic\, hand out StreetWise flyers\, Easter Baskets\, Blessing Bags\, and so much more. We can find a place for you! \nVolunteers will arrive by 8:45 A.M. at StreetWise facility. We will set up for the Easter Celebration/Mobile Food Pantry and then at 9:30 A.M. begin to serve the registered Clients. Registered guests never have to get out of their vehicles. Guests drive through our parking lot\, where StreetWise Volunteers load their cars. With everyone pitching in\, clean-up is a snap\, and Volunteers are done by 1:30 P.M. \nStreetWise has now partnered with Hands On Atlanta Nonprofit as a volunteer resource. \nClick this registration link to Volunteer at StreetWise Easter Celebration & Mobile Food Pantry! \n*If you are a High School or College Student that needs volunteer hours\, we can give you documentation that you volunteered at StreetWise 501(c)(3) Nonprofit. \nThis Food Pantry is an affiliate of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and is posting volunteer opportunities as part of a collaborative partnership between Hands On Atlanta and The Atlanta Community Food Bank.
