We’re going to really miss her; help us thank Diane Ramunno!
StreetWise has been blessed for the last two years to have Diane Ramunno working behind the scenes to help keep things running smoothly. Her hard-working spirit and loving heart have been vital to StreetWise, and we’re sad to see her go! Read on to hear what she has to say about her time on staff with us and what she’s looking forward to in the future.
Tell us a little about you.
I am retired from Gwinnett County Schools, and I will be married for ten years in September to my husband, Tom. We have recently moved to a 55+ community and are very involved in different functions and activities.
How did you first hear about StreetWise, and what’s your role?
I first heard about StreetWise through Linda Moore, who was my neighbor at the time. I began volunteering with her in spring of 2020. But for the last two years I’ve been on staff as financial administrator, maintaining all of the financials for StreetWise. A typical day for me consists of accounts payable, accounts receivable and maintaining informational spreadsheets.
What’s your favorite part of being involved in this ministry?
I love knowing that we’re helping others who are going through a crisis in their lives. One special story: on a Saturday, we were having a clothing event. This little girl who was maybe five reached up and picked out a red blouse. When she was told “yes” she could have it, the excitement on her face was so rewarding!
What do you want others to know about StreetWise, and what’s your dream for its future?
StreetWise is here to provide a relief from the stress people are facing: food-wise and spiritually, as well. Often, we can actually see the stress of life ease on the faces of our clients upon coming here. My dream is for StreetWise to continue to grow and expand even further into the community.
